I had no idea how disconnected, ungrounded, and unhappy I was. I’d felt the need to reconnect, but I didn’t know how to for the longest time.
I had been living in downtown San Francisco for 8 years. My tiny apartment that I shared was on the 4th floor overlooking one of the busiest streets in the city. I did my best to block out the sirens that blared 24/7 and the nonstop honking from cars in traffic.
At the time, I was teaching pilates and yoga full time at 5 different studios around the city. During the week I was up at 5am eating a banana and grabbing a coffee before catching a bus to go train my 6am clients.
I spent my days zigzagging the city training a few clients in each location before crash landing at home around 9pm.
The hours I kept were insane to say the least. And though I loved my work, I couldn’t help but feel like a rat in a wheel with no way out.
As much as I enjoyed aspects of my busy city life, I was missing one VERY very important piece…
CONNECTION TO NATURE.
I was able to get my bare feet on grass at a park maybe once a month. My frazzled nervous system desperately needed to reconnect to the Earth’s magnetic field, but at the time I couldn’t figure out why I felt so out energetically out of whack.
I realized how disconnected and frazzled I was energetically on a 2 week trip to Costa Rica. As I was hiking through the lush jungle and playing in the warm waves, I realized how much my soul was missing and needing nature.
That trip changed everything for me. I felt INCREDIBLE connecting to wild open spaces and grounded within myself again. I knew I couldn’t return to the city without making some radical changes.
4 months later I left my life and business in San Francisco to open a wellness center in a small tropical beach town in Costa Rica.
It was one of the biggest, scariest leaps I’ve ever taken, but it was the best decision for my heart and soul.
I had the courage to listen to my heart and was rewarded with 7 magical years in the jungle where I met JP Sears & began my next chapter.
So, remember to plug back into our source daily and reconnect with nature.
Nature is our greatest medicine, healer, and teacher.
When you feel lost, overwhelmed, stressed, and anxious she will be there to recalibrate and nourish all aspects of you.
Much Love & Pura Vida,
Amber Sears
