He loves me the way I always wanted. But, I didn’t know how to RECEIVE it at first. Learning how to surrender, trust, and receive love is something I’ve had to learn time and time again as an adult.
My heart was broken so many times in past relationships that it was hard to let my walls down, and open myself up, to be vulnerable with a new partner.
It was honestly challenging for me to believe that a man this kind, compassionate, respectful, and conscious existed.
Part of me thought it was all an illusion, or facade, at first. My lens of perception was covered in pain from the past, so it took me a minute to trust the deep dive into love with JP Sears.
I never thought it would be hard to receive love, but when you’ve got a lot of emotional baggage it most definitely is.
So, I would overcompensate by giving and serving others tenfold to make up for my inability to receive it. Thinking… if I just gave more, I would feel fulfilled, seen, heard, and appreciated.
I had it all backwards.
The breakthrough came when I realized I was pushing away love that felt too good to be true…
I was pushing away love that didn’t match how I felt about myself…
I was pushing away love that forced me to let go, surrender, and lose control…
All in the hopes of protecting myself from future pain.
Can you relate?
Had I been unaware of this pattern within me, I could’ve missed out on the love of my life.
So, what changed?
Luckily, JP wouldn’t stand around and watch that crap play out.
He just kept showering me with love. Unwavering in his pursuit and commitment to honor me the way he knew I should be.
He held space & listened.
He communicated clearly.
When I faced uncertainty, he validated my feelings.
He supported & empowered my dreams.
He loved me more than I knew was possible.
And that foundation of trust, vulnerability, mutual respect, communication, and loyalty is what keeps our fire alive.
⚡️Moral Of The Story:
If you struggle to receive the love you deserve, it’s time to start gifting it to YOURSELF. Then learn how to actually take compliments and praise from others.
Let all that love sink in and fill your cup.
Remember, you are worthy, deserving, and MORE THAN ENOUGH.
Lots of Love,
Amber Sears
