Wilder is 5 months old today and is beginning to embody his name. He’s a BIG mover and loves to smile! The boy never stops kicking his legs, playing with toys, or practising his new favourite thing… rolling.
Now that he’s figured out how to roll over from back to front, scoot on his back, and put everything in his mouth, I’m watching him like a hawk
We are both sleeping much better now that Wilder’s outgrown the 4 months sleep regression chapter. I’ve had decent hours of zzz’s this week, so I’m feeling more like myself than I have in a long time.
I’m super grateful I’m back in action energetically because JP has been sidelined with a pretty bad knee injury from wakeboarding.
JP can’t walk, so he’s got new wheels
His surgery is next week and his ruptured patella tendon will most likely take 6 months to heal fully.
So while he’s healing, I’m on full-time baby duty and supporting him in all the ways I can for a fast recovery.
Our lives have changed rapidly, but I strongly believe everything happens for a reason. No matter what curve balls life throws at us, there is always a lesson, a silver lining, and a takeaway.
The silver lining is JP gets to rest and slow down a bit. And I get to take care of him… which I’m REALLY enjoying. He’s a super-efficient, productive and self-sufficient guy who rarely asks for or needs help, so it’s been fun to support him during this intense time.
I’ve been sidelined many times with injuries throughout my life as a dancer. I know how humbling and challenging they can be mentally and emotionally. Especially when you are a very active person. I empathize with JP so much and know he’ll heal super fast.
I know the next several months of his recovery will bring us together and open our hearts even more. I’m just so damn grateful he wasn’t more severely hurt. That alone is an immense blessing.
Thanks for all the love and prayers everyone! We super appreciate you.
Much Love,
Amber Sears
